Lawns
Green and stripy perfection is easier than you think
Lawn seeding and turfing
The real key to establishing a lawn the neighbours will envy is careful preparation of the seed bed. Grass likes moist conditions but it doesn’t like being waterlogged, when moss can quickly muscle in.
So, before you think about the grass, we’ll help you consider what’s under it and advise on how to make sure your topsoil is free-draining, if necessary by installing effective underground drainage.
When the foundation is right, we can then chat about your grass. You may want a very fine lawn, or perhaps one tough enough for family life. We’ll then supply and install either top quality seed or cultivated lawn turf.
Hydroseeding
If you’re grassing a slope or difficult-to-access site we may recommend hydroseeding, a process that applies a special wet mix of seed and fine organic matter through a spray.
Wildflower turf and seeded area
This technique is becoming increasingly popular thanks to its near-maintenance-free characteristics, colourful displays and ease of cultivation, particularly on poor, dry ground.
Annual shows: these provide an economical alternative to summer bedding.
Perennial installations: once planted these schemes go on providing colour and interest for years to come. They’re particularly popular for large areas where regular mowing would be impractical or in domestic gardens, paddock areas and to surround orchard planting.
